Brilliant sunshine
and long leisurely afternoons draw families to the pristine
lakes. Swim or boat in the rejuvenating waters or just
read a book or nap in a hammock in the shade of a
tree.
Crisp fall evenings
bring out the majestic Red Maple, Sugar Maple, Poplar, Birch
and Larch - a quilt of brilliant orange, flaming red and
golden yellow. The air is cool and refreshing, filling
lungs and soul with an indescribable pleasure.
The
region becomes a fairy tale wonderland. Saddleback Ski
area opens for the holidays, offering the last uncrowded
skiing in the East. Snowmobiling through the Maine woods may
be unmatched by any other experience. Rangeley also
plays host to over 60 km of beautifully groomed Cross
Country ski trails. State of the art groomers make
them amongst the finest in New England.
